Right now, thousands of federal workers and military families in San Diego are going to work without knowing when their next paycheck will come. Some have been furloughed. Additionally, on November 1, CalFresh benefits will not be distributed to the nearly 400,000 San Diegans who rely on them.
The government shutdown means many families are facing tough choices. Do they pay rent or buy groceries? Can they afford gas to get to work and still put food on the table? No one should have to make these impossible decisions. Many hardworking people are just one paycheck away from needing support from Feeding San Diego.

Do I get a receipt?
A donation receipt will be sent to you at the email address you provide on this form. Please be sure to keep a copy of your receipt for tax purposes. If you select a recurring donation, you will be sent an individual receipt each month when your donation is processed.

Can I dedicate my donation to someone?
Yes! To dedicate your donation in honor or memory of a loved one, colleague, or friend, click the checkbox next to "Dedicate my donation in honor or in memory of someone" located below the amount selection boxes. The first and last name of your honoree are required fields. You will also have the option to input contact information and a message to the recipient, which will be automatically sent upon completion of your transaction.
Can I donate from my Donor Advised Fund (DAF) or Individual Retirement Account (IRA)?
Yes! You can make a donation from your DAF or IRA. If you have a DAF, simply recommend a grant to Feeding San Diego through your fund's administrator. For those 70½ or older, you may also be eligible to make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA, which can count toward your required minimum distribution and may offer tax advantages. Please consult your financial institution to make a distribution to Feeding San Diego or if you have any questions.
